On September, 1993, Global Trash was born as the only active newsletter/magazine publisher aimed at Hash House Harriers worldwide on that date. Another publisher restarted for a few months, but quickly ended publications. On July 1995, the first fledgling website for Global Trash magazine appeared on AOL. By October, a static directory page for the world’s hashes was moved from the hardcopy pages of the Hash Bible and GT magazine to that website. The domain GTHHH.com was provided to point to the growing on-line website resources. Over the years, more and more features were added to the website as it has continuously remained the largest and most popular on-line hash resource for the Hash House Harriers in the search engines. Eventually, the domain became WorldHHH.com to recognize that success. As a result of some political problems and hacker attacks, it was decided that the friendly sport of hounds and hares begun by the founder and founding members in Kuala Lumpur in 1938 seemed to have had a lot of negative change in some groups. Therefore, the World Harrier Organization (WHO) and its annual gathering and eventually the domain https://www.worldharrierorganization.com replaced Global Trash, though the magazine still stands as the official magazine of WHO.
Global Publications and Software, the parent firm of Global Trash and now InterHASHional News, was created in 1995 to cover software, web services and other activities not related to the Hash House Harriers. Global Trash and IHN has always remained the non-profit arm of GP&S to serve the Hash House Harriers community and its almost two thousand groups worldwide. This nonprofit was replaced in the last few years by the all encompassing World Harrier Organization which serves all hounds and hares groups, competitive or social.
The first World Hash Space was created in beta in 2001 and announced in 2002 to the harrier world, on the domain HHHWeb.com and eventually provided hundreds of hashers the tools to create their own websites, photo albums, hash journals, guest books (now called forums or what some of you call blogs) and more – before Facebook. These resources and other entertainment and hash communications services have moved with the personal hash websites to WorldHashSpace.com. However, HHHWeb.com is still the home to Visual OnSec On-Line, the world hash space for Hash House Harrier groups, providing them with a thorough suite of website, hash trash, photo album and mismanagement tools, all as a non-profit service of Global Trash. After some downtime due to a hacker attack, these members will be back on https://www.harriermates.com and the Visual OnSec will be moved to https://www.harriergroups.com. At one time we had over 130 groups getting their online presence and group management through this resource. We hope to have it all once again.
With InterHASHional News and Global Trash magazines, we hope this reorganization of the entertainment and communications services of Global Trash under the umbrella of the World Harrier Organization, along with Harrier Mates and Harrier Groups makes it easier for you to find hashers and communicate with them in forums, email lists and your own websites in one location. https://www.WorldHarrierOrganization.com, formerly WorldHHH.com and before that GTHHH.com, still serves as the platform for the directory, calendar and helps to support the magazine publications and their respective websites. Membership and log in for one will work for the other under the GlobalKey â„¢ system, making it easier for about 25 thousand World Harrier Organization members to migrate between the domains. All of this now comes under the World Harrier Organization.
